Background:

Daniel Martin is Montclair State University Professor holding a Master's Degree in Psychology and Cognitive Science with professional applications in Behavioral Neuroscience. His experience in scientific research includes EEG brain wave studies, behavioral studies, neuro-anatomical studies, and investigations into various psycho-physical phenomena. He has presented in two research symposiums speaking on 'Expanding Consciousness & Our Idea of Physicalism' (2013) and on the 'Discrepancies in the Idea of Self - East & West' (2014). His previous engagements involve BCC STEM (2016), the Kessler Foundation (2018), the Montclair State Speech Communication Lab (2018), and the Rutgers Center for Behavioral and Molecular Neuroscience (2019). He is currently a member of the New York Academy of Science and has been featured as a Psychology spokesperson on both radio & podcast platforms, landing him as a resident speaker for Lectures on Tap NYC (2024).

Daniel Martin has held a spiritual practice for over 15 years, leading various meditations and discussion groups, as well as investigating alternative therapies, initiating into the Kriya Yoga lineage, and attaining certifications in Yogic Therapy, Polarity Therapy, Neuro-muscular Reprogramming, and CPD certified Life Coach. Several investigations into alternative therapies and modalities of healing broaden the scope of knowledge that is now embedded within the Self Perpetual program's various teaching methods to disseminate information through workshops, individual coaching, and consulting practices.

3 Day Mind-Body-Spirit Integration

DAY 1

Breath-work &

Physical Practice

Breathing directly influences the nervous system, emotional state, metabolism, and immune function. Blending ancient yogic wisdom with modern physiology, we elaborate several breath-work practices with a range of functions that can build emotional resilience, create mental clarity, or ease stress. Through practices like deep diaphragmatic breathing, extended exhales, breath holds, chambered and box breathing, and energizing fire breath, participants learn to expand their natural breathing capacity, oxygenate the body, stimulate vitality, and reconnect conscious awareness with unconscious patterns. By mastering the breath, you gain a practical, embodied tool to regulate emotions, elevate energy, and cultivate a grounded sense of control, ease, and joy in everyday life.

DAY 2

Light Activation & Mental Stability

Light activation unveils the power of the eyes & optics as a direct gateway to calming the mind, regulating the nervous system, and energetically “feeding” the brain. Blending yogic wisdom with modern neuroscience, this session reveals how softening the gaze and expanding peripheral vision quiets fear responses, steadies awareness, and creates mental stillness by changing the sensory input to the brain. You’ll learn how eye movement, light exposure, and visual stillness influence emotional states, brain waves, circadian rhythm, sleep quality, and mood through serotonin and melatonin regulation. By working with natural sunlight, relaxing facial tension, and consciously absorbing light through the eyes, literally a direct extension of the brain, this practice electrically activates the nervous system while cultivating presence, clarity, and inner balance. The result is a powerful recalibration of perception, energy, & self-awareness, aligning the mind and body with the natural forces of light.

DAY 3

Meditation & Spiritual Realization

Meditation is a form of transcendence which allows us to see beyond the conceptual self and into direct experience of being. Drawing from Zen philosophy, psychology, and contemplative science, this session explores how identity is formed through language, memory, and conditioning and how meditation gently dissolves these constructs to reveal a deeper, more intrinsic sense of self. Rather than “doing” meditation, the practice reframes it as conscious being: calming the breath, relaxing the body, softening effort, and training awareness through stillness, body scanning, and mindful observation. By learning to move attention through the body, rest in safety, and release judgment when the mind wanders, meditation becomes an act of self-giving and inner alignment. The result is a grounded, expansive state of presence that transcends labels and stories, offering clarity, peace, and a direct connection to the deeper rhythms of consciousness.
